Sparring
The LSA system uses a 1 minute continuous sparring, similar to boxing. The scoring is as follows:
1 - Rate: 1-10 on Combat Quality, which includes offense, defense as well as marital quality
2 - Rate: 1-5 on Style, which includes moves, spins, rolls, costume and overall presentation
LSA sparring is intended to focus on participant safety, martial quality as well as being enjoyable for both spectators and participants to watch. While point sparring focuses on reach and distance, the LSA system focuses on defense and flow of movement from one exchange to another.
